About to go spread the love...

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go HERE!

Thoughtful Thursday: YOU ARE LOVED

I'll be the first to admit that I am a 'words of affirmation' girl, which means I love a word of encouragement and positive feedback (according to Dr. Gary Chapman).  It is very easy to take people for granted and there isn't a much worse feeling than NOT feeling appreciated or loved.  Today, we are going to spread words of affirmation around this town like a bad rash.... How, you ask?  Well, follow this link for a clue.  It's ok... click on it... I'll wait!

So, by now, you are over the shock that printing on post its IS possible (life changing, I know!) .

Now it's time to get started!

1. Print awesome messages on colorful post it notes ( or be doubly awesome and embed your messages in QR codes for added mystery)

2. Leave your messages of love for someone to find ALL OVER TOWN.

3. Then trust your messages will be found at exactly the right moment by the perfect person.

Here are some ideas of places to spread love....

TAMU bus stops

water fountains

library books

bathroom stalls/mirrors

car windshields

atm’s

grocery carts

dressing rooms

bars

light posts

the gym

pant pockets

my front door or

any tiny spot someone might stumble upon

You NEVER KNOW what your words may mean to someone... you TRULY NEVER KNOW!

Oh, by the way....
Felt good, didn't?

Thoughtful Thursday: Food Bank/ Soda Jerk

Today begins one of my very favorite parts of summer- volunteering at the Brazos Valley Food Bank!  The kids LOVE LOVE LOVE doing this every few weeks and it always sparks some very interesting conversations about the realities of our community...
Here's a picture of the volunteers from exactly one year ago :)

This will be our first step in our thoughtful Thursday adventure!

I should start this second part by saying that my grandfather is almost 88 years old.  He lives close by, but we don't visit nearly enough... He LOVES telling stories about how he was a 'soda jerk' in the 30's and he really does make the best rootbeer floats ever.  Today, we are surprising him with Bluebell Homemade Vanilla ice cream, A&W Rootbeer, and a frosty mug.  I'm sure he'll want to make it, but I want my kids to have the same memories and hear the same stories I did growing up, so we'll watch and listen and soak up the history.... oh, how I love this man!
